Benefits

The benefits an employer offers can be a significant differentiator and benefits are becoming more popular and sought after. Traditional benefits like healthcare, dental insurance, vacation time, and sick time have been standard for years, but more candidates seek extended benefits. Trending benefits like family planning, mental healthcare, wellness programs, and parental time off are now often expected, and some employers now offer unlimited time off versus earned or specific allotted vacation days.

Why offer benefits?

3 Types of Benefits to Offer

Health Benefits
Health benefits are typically in the form of insurance for medical, dental, and vision insurance. Post-pandemic many candidates and employees expect mental health insurance and telehealth benefits.
Financial Benefits
Financial benefits used to come in 401k, but this isn’t as much of a draw as it used to be. Candidates and employees seek more custom financial assistance like tuition reimbursement, student loan assistance, or emergency savings plans. Offering financial planning is becoming more popular and essential.
Time Related Benefits
Time-related benefits used to be limited to vacation time, PTO, and sick time, but companies are listening to the needs of their employees and evolving with the times. Offering benefits like unlimited time off builds trust between employees and their employers and provides flexibility and independence. Personal time off reduces burnout and increases productivity when employees are in the office. Flextime is another benefit that gives employees autonomy to get their job done and can improve morale.
