2) Join referral programs of software or services you use yourself. This way you can speak from your own experience about why people should sign up as well. Also, it might be a good idea to have a small example prepared to share with people.
3) Share it with people you know yourself. Potentially the fastest way to get signups on your referral link is to send it to people that know you. Those people might trust you more and you also know their personal situation and how to convince them why they need it.
4) Use social media. When you have a referral link or a referral code use social media to share it with your followers. When sharing also put a personal note or message with the link and not just the standard message to stand out and try and convince people to sign up.
How You Could Make Money Doing Referral Programs
So, referral programs are actually programs for users or customers of the service or product to refer friends or other people to use that service. It is in itself not made as a form of alternative compensation to make a living. And a referral program is not part of a compensation package of a job and would not be considered alternative compensation as part of an employment contract.
Most referral programs will most likely not offer monetary value on the referrals but will give something that is part of the service or company that you are already using. However the specific reward will depend on the program, it is therefore very important to clearly research the referral program before starting.
